First, a dangerous blizzard happened in New York in 1947. They couldn’t go outside during the blizzard because the temperature was cold so they stayed inside. Since the subway system shut down it was hard to get out. Papa was stuck at work since the blizzard came. Rosa and Eddie knew they should not argue because of the big storm. They ran out of milk and bread, as a result, Mama had to go to the market in the blizzard. The kids wanted to go with their mom to the store therefore they went to the store with her. Mr. Colon asked if they wanted to help, as a result they helped. They helped her shovel the snow the effect was that she was happy. It was easy to shovel since they worked together.
Last, lots of rain can cause a flood. There was a flood in Vermont in 1927. These are some ways that flood affected people in Vermont. The flood was so big that it led to a lot of their supplies being demolished and therefore all of the people were bringing what they could. Many people needed to leave their homes. As a result the dogs were being left behind on roofs. The river overflowed, this led to houses washing down the river. There was a big flood so they had so stay inside with a bunch of animals. There was a full house which was the result of one hundred chickens, three horses, one cow, five pigs, a duck, and four cats. Everyone had to share the quilt since they were in one house. The flood waters were so high, consequently animals got stuck because of the flood. This led grandpa to go and rescue the animals. Grandpa was brave to get all of the animals because they’re important to him. The flood waters had gotten so high that as a result grandpa was swept away in the water. Grandpa grabbed onto the cow for this reason he was stuck in a tree. Grandpa did not come home for this reason Grandma and Wren had to help Grandpa. Grandpa cried because all of his animals drowned during the flood.
Weather affects us all. There are many harmful effects. We also noticed a positive effect. We saw that people worked together to survive harsh weather.
