The Rotary Club gave us a visit and delivered a dictionary for every third grader! Students worked in cooperative groups to solve a 2 step story problem. We had a gallery walk to look at the the models and equations the groups used to solve their story problems. During science students were classifying teddy grahams. We got to run around the halls during the Jog-a-Thon! We read about people who solved problems by making a new invention. Elijah McCoy invented the oil can to keep trains running by reducing friction. We saw the power of friction. Maddie is holding onto a pencil, which is holding up a bottle full of rice. What was your favorite part of the week?
We got to try out a lot of science tools during our first Hands on Science. We are ready to study the interaction of living and nonliving things in the terrariums that we made.
We had our first dance class. We met up with our first grade reading buddies. We learned about the commutative property of multiplication. We thought about the characteristics of living and nonliving things. |
